Conclusion: An Invitation
❦
The Bible tells a single story. God made us for Himself. We turned away. Yet He did not leave us. He came in the person of Jesus Christ, lived the life we could not live, died the death we deserve, and rose again to give life to all who trust Him. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life" (John 3:16).
The last invitation Jesus gave in the Bible is an image of a door. "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20). It is an invitation to friendship, not only forgiveness.
If you have never trusted Christ, you may do so right now. "Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation" (2 Corinthians 6:2). If you already have, return to Him often and tell others the good news.
The most famous Christian evangelist of the twentieth century, Billy Graham, ended his gatherings with a simple call: to come forward and trust Christ [15]. You do not need a crowd. You need only a heart open to God, and He promises: "Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved" (Romans 10:13).
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. (Revelation 22:21)
