How to Use This Book
This book gives every student the core knowledge of the English language: its history and varieties, sounds and spelling, grammar, punctuation, vocabulary, reading, writing, speaking and research skills. Each chapter presents key rules, examples and review questions with answers. Numbers in square brackets, such as [1], point to the numbered References at the end. Language is learned by use: read widely, write often, speak with others and keep a notebook of new words and corrected mistakes.
