What Every Student Should Know
By the end of your foundation studies you should be able to:

A 12-Month Foundation Plan

Fifteen Common Mistakes
1. Practising irregularly and cramming.
2. Skipping warm-ups and basics.
3. Copying without understanding.
4. Neglecting theory and history.
5. Using vague words such as "nice" in appreciation.
6. Ignoring cultural context.
7. Fearing mistakes.
8. Refusing feedback.
9. Comparing yourself only with others.
10. Not recording your progress.
11. Overlooking health, rest, and safety.
12. Presenting others' work as your own.
13. Ignoring other art forms and traditions.
14. Waiting for inspiration instead of working.

A Self-Assessment
Rate yourself from 1 to 5 on each of the five NIE concepts: perception, creative expression, historical and cultural context, aesthetic appreciation, and connection. Choose your lowest score and plan one action for the coming month.
